This Privacy Policy explains what information Contourist (the “Service”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

  • Contact details you provide — for example, the email address you use to request access or contact us.
  • Activity data you choose to import from third-party platforms such as Strava, including routes, distance, elevation and timestamps, used to generate your keepsake.
  • Usage and device data collected automatically, such as pages visited and general analytics, to help us improve the Service.

How we use your information

  • To create, display and improve your map keepsakes.
  • To operate, maintain and secure the Service.
  • To respond to your requests and communicate about early access.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third parties to provide the Service:

  • Strava — when you connect your account, we access the activity data you authorize, subject to Strava’s own terms and privacy policy.
  • Mapbox — used to render the maps that display your routes.
  • Google Analytics — used to understand aggregate usage of the site; this runs only after you accept analytics in our cookie banner.

Cookies and consent

We use a cookie-consent banner to ask before loading non-essential cookies, such as analytics. You can decline, and you can change your choice later. Essential cookies needed to operate the site may still be used.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You may ask us to delete your data as described below.

Your choices

  • Decline or revoke analytics consent at any time.
  • Disconnect a linked third-party account such as Strava.
  • Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.

Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the Service evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above.
